Trustees
The Trust deed provides for a maximum of 14 Trustees. Three of the 14 seats on the Trust Board are referred to as Nominated Trustees because they represent organisations for which a seat on the Board is guaranteed. The remaining seats are for Appointed Trustees. From time to time Advisory Trustees may be appointed.

Pauatahanui Inlet Community Trust – Trustees’ Short Biographies
Dr John McKoy (Chair)
John McKoy has until recently been Chief Scientist, Fisheries for NIWA. He is a marine biologist with a PhD from Victoria University of Wellington. He has contributed in a range of roles to fisheries research in New Zealand since 1973, in MAF, MAF Fisheries, and NIWA. As a scientist he has worked on the ecology of intertidal molluscs, wood boring marine animals, giant clam fisheries in Tonga, rock lobster, scallop, snapper and albacore fisheries and a range of other inshore species. He was involved in the earliest days of developing mussel farming in the Marlborough Sounds. He has worked in research management in NZ for 20 years and has supervised the science side of fisheries surveys and consultancies in Oman, Iran, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. John has lived in the Paremata, Pukerua Bay, Plimmerton area for 37 years.

Jennie works as a Resource Management Officer of Te Runuga o Toa Rangitira - Ngati Toa, Tangata Whenua of the area. She represents the Chief Executive of the iwi.

Barbara is a Porirua representative on the Greater Wellington Regional Council.
Philippa Richardson
Philippa has been a resident of Paremata for nearly a decade and has grown to love the Inlet over that time. She is an environmental planner by training and worked for the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment for about 7 years. Philippa has been a trustee for 7 years. She is particularly interested in the planning and development issues which affect the Inlet.
Russell Morrison
Has lived beside Pauatahanui Inlet virtually all his life and spent much of that time sailing, rowing, paddling, fishing, swimming, birdspotting, etc. on the Inlet. Russell formerly worked for various relevant government agencies including Marine Division of Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Recreation & Sport, and NZ Wildlife Service. He is a former Commodore of Paremata Boating Club and a long-time member (currently Vice-President) of Paremata Residents Association.Grant is the current Chair of the Porirua Harbour and Catchment Community Trust.
Professor John Wells
Has been Chairperson of the Guardians of Pauatahanui Inlet since 2003 when he retired from Victoria University of Wellington where he was Professor of Zoology for 25 years and Dean of Science for 8 years. His research interests are in marine ecology - some of which was done in Pauatahanui Inlet. He joined the Pauatahanui Inlet Community Trust in 2005 and is actively involved with the Porirua City Council in setting their Harbour Management Strategy. John is a current Trustee of the Porirua Harbour and Catchment Community Trust.
Grant Baker
Grant has been a General Manager with the Department of Conservation for the last twelve years, is a member of the Institute of Professional Engineers, a member of the Institute of Directors an active and Life Member of the North City Cricket Club. Grant was previously involved in local politics as a Tawa Borough Councillor for two years and a member of the Tawa Community Board for 9 years including two as Chairperson. Grant is the current Chair of the Porirua Harbour and Catchment Community Trust.
Cheryl Cameron
Cheryl is an award winning documentary film maker, having spent 20 years in the film and television industry, including making wildlife documentaries for National Geographic. Her focus is on social and environmental films. She has been involved in the local community in a number of roles including chair of the Play Centre when organising their purpose built centre, co-editor of a community newspaper with weekly circulation of 30,000.
Wanda Tate
Long term stalwart of the Pauatahanui Wildlife Management Reserve Wanda was a foundation trustee of PICT. A retired schoolteacher and active biologist.
Christine Stanley
Christine has long been involved in voluntary work in the Pauatahanui Community. A co-founder of both the Pauatahanui Pre-school and Guardians of Pauatahanui Inlet. A past member of the Horokiri Ward Committee, Chair of the Pauatahanui School Board of Trustees and a founding trustee of PICT. She is also a past trustee of the Wellington Sexual Abuse Help Foundation and previous manager of the NZ Women’s Refuge Foundation. Her other work environments have included radiation therapy and libraries. Christine lives on a farm on the northern shores of Pauatahanui Inlet, and is a current Trustee of the Porirua Harbour and Catchment Community Trust.
Lindsay Gow
Lindsay is a Whitby resident and an active user of the Inlet and coastal areas nearby. He has a long background in planning and resource management and recently retired from the position of Deputy Chief Executive of the Ministry for the Environment. Lindsay is a current Trustee of the Porirua Harbour and Catchment Community Trust.
Grant Irving
Grant lives in Otaki with a young family. He is the Catchment Coordinator for the Pauatahanui Inlet Vegetation Frameworks Project. He graduated fro Massey University in 2002 with a Batchelor of Applied Science in Natural Resource Management.
